The Future of Food : Climate Change, GMO's and Food Security
Navdanya with Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology and Diverse Women for Diversity would like to invite you to a major International Conference on 1st and 2nd October, 2008 on the theme "The Future of Food : Climate Change, GMO's and Food Security" in New Delhi.
On 11th May, 2008, Navdanya and Paani Morcha with hundreds of local farmers launched the campaign to "Stop the Disappearance of the Ganga". Ganga, the spiritual, cultural and physical lifeline of India is disappearing because reckless dam building in the high reaches of the Himalayan is drying up the river. More than two dozen dams are being built from the source of the Ganges at Gangotri to Hardiwar, where more than 30 million people gather every twelve years for the Kumbh Mela and hundreds and thousands bathe everyday.

During the Gandhi's Satyagraha Centennial, Navdanya inaugurated the new seed bacnk at historic champaran where Gandhi had started the champaran satyagraha against the forced cultivation of indigo. Read More
Navdanya released its study on the social, economic and ecological impact of Jatropha cultivation for bio diesel in India "Biofuel Hoax: Jatropha and Land Grab" at a press conference on 27th of November 2007. The study authored by Dr Vandana Shiva and Manu Sankar is based on field work in the three states of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Read Complete Report
