class='-left img src="images/p1010060.jpg" alt="" /></p> <p>Navdanya has started rejuvenating another lost garden in Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh named Rani Ka Bag recently. There are 13 gardens identified by the INTECH in Khajuraho. Navdanya started rejuvenating Lost Gardens of Khajuraho in association with the INTECH Belgium in the year 2008. The endeavor was started with the "Pateria Ka Bag". Plants of Mango, Guava, Amla, Jack Fruit and other local fruits were planted in the garden after restoring the old monuments in the gardens.</p> <p>"Rani Ka bag" is being rejuvenated now, where there are two beautiful wells and two temples along with one old building. The garden is being taken on lease from the owner, who will be handed over the garden after it is brought into a good shape and when it starts earning to sustain the family. Old wells have already been cleaned and water is being used for drinking as well as for irrigating the field. To start initially vegetable production has already been started. Next year local fruit plants will be planted in the 7 acre garden. Seed bank will also be started in the garden soon.</p> <p>Recently the progress of the Rani Ka Bag was witnessed by the participants of the conference on Sustainable Development of Khajuraho, organized by the INTECH, India in association with the INTECH Belgium and M.P. Government on from 16th -18th November 2010. In the workshop Navdanya suggested the need of long term planning for the Sustainable Agriculture. Navdanya also showed its interest in helping INTECH in making the sustainable Development Plan for Khajuraho keeping in view the surrounding villages. Navdanya also suggested to local authorities to come forward for the promotion of local foods in the hotels of Khajuraho to help local farmers and conserve local crops</p>'
