New Delhi, 4 Oct 16: Dr Vandana Shiva, environmentalist and biosafety scientist submitted her critique of the GM Mustard by biosafety report on Tuesday. The Ministry for Environment, Forests and Climate Change had placed some sections of the GM biosafety report on its website. The ministry had invited the civil society organizations and experts to submit their comments via email by 5th October 2016.

Dr Vandana Shiva lends support to Indian farmers submitting a declaration to the Agriculture Ministry in support of the government decision to regulate Bt cotton seed prices and further ask to ban all GMOs including GM mustard.

Farmer groups from across the country today came in support of agriculture ministrys move to regulate Bt cotton seed prices but also demanded a ban on all genetically modified organism (GMOs) including GM Mustard.

Farmer groups also submitted a declaration in support of the agricultural ministrys decision to regulate the price of Bt Cotton Seed, signed by over 30,000 farmers to Deputy Commissioner in Agriculture Ministry D S Misra.
