During the annual Food and Crafts festival jointly organised by Navdanya, Women Alliance of Ladakh women groups decides to adopt the Thimphu declaration. The festival was inaugurated by the sitting MP Sri Thupstan Tsewang. At the occasion about 200 women and representatives of government and Non government oganizations were present. Some of the dignitaries included Ven Namgail, President of Gompa Association, Ladakh, Sri Norbu Gyaltsan, MLC J&K, Dr. Md. Deen, President LEHO, Mr. Saifuddin, President Muslim Association Leh, Sri Thupstan Wangchok, Director New Millennium Children, Dr. Tundup, President Gompa Association, Sri Tsewang Dorjay, Sri Tsewang Rigzin, Mrs. Rinchen Angmo, President WAL, Mrs. Razia Sultan, Vice President LEHO, Mrs. Tsering Yangskit, VP, WAL, Mrs. Tashi Dolma, Mrs, Zaida, Ama Chocho, Mr. Tsewang.

Mr. Tsewang Dorjay read the Ladakh Declaration and people present unanimously adopted the declaration and promised to work for it to make Organic Ladakh a reality.
