Dr. Vandana Shiva is launching her book "Pulse of Life: The Rich Biodiversity of Edible Legumes" to coincide with the UN declaration of 2016 as the International Year of Pulses.

The International Year of Pulses aims to heighten public awareness of the nutritional benefits of pulses as part of sustainable food production. The book looks at the rich bio-cultural diversity of pulses and legumes and analyses the threats to diversity and sovereignty of century old traditions of pulses in India and around the world.
