Bitter Seeds follows a season in a village in Vidharbha, Maharashtra, from sowing cotton seeds to harvest. Cotton-farmer Ram Krishna borrows heavily in the face of mounting costs of both modern farming and a daughter’s wedding. His story is too alike that of farmers who commit suicide in despair. Manjusha, his neighbour, is fighting family traditions to become a reporter, and find out why her own father had chose to commit suicide.
