On 3rd and 4th October 2023 125 women farmers, selected by their MAS members to be trained and become multiplier gurus through certificate training in Agroecology, Biodiversity-based Agriculture, and Organic Food Systems, as well as conservation, reproduction, multiplication, and seed production and became gurus of organic agriculture (Krishi Acharya) at Navdanya Biodiversity farm Dehradun., A total of 125 MAS women farmers from various states — primarily West Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand participated in the certificate training—joined. The movement's main goal was to provide farmers with both theoretical and practical hands-on in organic farming techniques and their philosophy and needs.

On day 1 - 3rd October 2023. Expert Dr. Vir Singh, emeritus professor and ecologist from G B Pant Agriculture University conducted a training session on "Enhancing Resilience and phypto-synergism for fortifying organic Agroecosystem functions". He began with the significance of the earth and then covered agriculture, natural biodiversity, and the green revolution. He discusses how sustainability might be attained and mentions that a key barrier is the human-controlled biosphere. He discusses the agro-ecosystem and mentions the ability of mountain agriculture to adapt.

The participants were very enthusiastic and actively participated in expressing their views and thoughts on Agroecology, Biodiversity-based Agriculture, and Organic Food Systems, as well as conservation, reproduction, multiplication, and seed production in their own words through speech and songs.

Mamta Mamta from West Bengal - She claimed that agriculture had been lost as a result of climate change, but that Navdanya had greatly aided them, particularly during the Corona pandemic. They used the products of agriculture for midday meals and personal usage. She claimed that fast food has negative health impacts and that she and her family are aware of the effects of pesticides on food grains and fast food processing. from West Bengal Raji Devi from Uttarakhand - She claimed that less water is needed to grow rice. Crops that are drought and flood-resistant are grown, and they have a seed bank.

Sakti Rani from Odisha – She said thanks to Navdanya after joining this organization, they were able to survive during the coronavirus pandemic because to Navdanya.

Vishakha Thakre from Maharashtra – She said she is fortunate to be in Dehradun and thanked her MAS members to elect her for becoming a Guru. It has increased her self-confidence. She committed to spreading practical knowledge to as many people as she can. Women sang songs on themes that were theme based on seeds, soil, and organic farming.

Preeti S. Virkar carried out training on the Benefits of Biodiversity and Pest Management to agroecosystems. She explained why one should give up pesticides due to their poisonous nature. This was followed by a practical session conducted by the Navdanya team. They learned to prepare their own pest management organic solution and its application to the crops.

On Day 2, 4th October 2023 theoretical session & practical training on seeds was carried out in the morning - Beej Swaraj: Beejak. The sessions were based on Why Save Your own Indigenous Seeds? How to save and multiply your indigenous seeds? Identifying seed keepers from the Guru’s who will do the following, Recollect the nutritious and climate-resilient indigenous seeds that were grown and were later lost. Women planned how to rejuvenate indigenous seeds and reclaim Beej Swaraj Seed Sovereignty.

With the background on the concentration of why and how to save indigenous seed training and participatory planning by MAS will be carried out. This will include managing the seed bank's multiplication of seed exchange buying and selling seeds, and maintaining our seed registers.

Later living soil theory and practical sessions on composts were carried out by the Navdanya team guided by Dr. M. P. SinghWhere he spoke on why to stop using chemical fertilizers. the importance of crop rotation following multiple cropping since it will produce a variety of grains and conserve soil nutrients. He stressed the value of cultivating pulses since they restore nitrogen in the soil. He also stressed the value of organic farming to restore the life in soil. Navdanay team trained the women in the preparation of different types of composts for rejuvenating the soil.

Navdanya team carried out a practical session on the preparation of pest control solutions for organic farming. The team trained the women to identify pest-repellent plant biodiversity around them and how to prepare the organic pest control solution.

Finally, the Navdanya team discussed Bija Swaraj and Anna Swaraj – Seed Sovereignty and Food Sovereignty with the women and their importance and their role as Gurus in bringing about Bija Swaraj Anna Swaraj.
